@MissLoveTantei91 – What most people don’t realize is that ALL colleges are a scam. The things that people complained about regarding SCAD were things I have seen happening in ALL colleges and universities. Not sure why people are focusing on SCAD but it could be that it is expensive, but so is CalArts and few artists who graduate there actually get a job, unlike the people from SCAD, yet it is such a renowned art school.
I’m so sick of people saying this and that art school is a “scam”. Honestly people. Just go if you want to.
I seriously want to go to this colledge, but after reading the comments below is that really true??
The biggest problem with SCAD is (unless they changed this) THEY DON’T REQUIRE PORTFOLIO to get in! Wth, right? So you get LOTS of lazy, nontalented and unmotivated people (as well as amazingly talented ones) And because the instructors are so used to the general population being unmotivated, they don’t push you hard, nothing is challenging. I’ve seen amazing artists get in and out 4 years later with the exact same drawings, no improvement, which makes me sad.. Facilities? 5stars!! Teachers? meh
It really all LOOKS amazing and I know SCAD is good in certain departments, but not all. I went to SCAD Savannah for 1,5 years as illustration major, sequential art minor, and I learned pretty much nothing. The illustration building was a huge disappointment, the art on the walls from upper year students were crappy. Facilities and teachers were meh too. I pretty much ran away from there and transferred out. I’ll be honest, I’m not a hateful person, but I was hugely disappointed.
@sara417b SCAD education is solid. But like every Art & Design school, your folio speaks more than your GPA and at the end of the day the individual determines that. Which is why the facilities are so important, bc the opportunity to excel is there. Go to SCAD, best decision you’ll ever make.
I’d really love to go to SCAD one day.

where do you read reviews from? My counselor told me not to pay attention to negative comments on forums etc you find about schools in general, because it’s always the same type of person who complains. (I’m not a SCAD student btw)
I was thinking about attending for Industrial Design but I read some bad reviews about the campus in Savannah

I heard SCADs getting way over crowed
but is the education good enough? i know the facilities are great but what about the stuff you learn?
