I have no High School Diploma. Only a GED. What do you think the chances are of finding an online college who will accept me to study for Journalism?

You simply cannot learn or study the art and practice of Journalism through online coursework. Journalism is to be taught through real reporters in the field as well as applied learning by writing, taking interships, and reporting for the news. Just not possible to learn it online.

You have a good chance…but you should try if you can to go in a actual class setting cause as another answerer said, journalism is a very hands on, practical major. You have to do actual reporting and interviewing so you can get “your feet wet” so to speak. The only way that you are going to learn about reporting and meeting deadlines, both very important in journalism, is actually doing it. I mentioned to somebody else that there are schools that have night and weekend courses for adults who are not the “traditional” student so there is a good chance that you can find a college in your area that can fit into your schedule…They do exists so don’t give up. I am praying for you.
I’m sure you won’t have a problem but you might want to take some courses on campus at a community college. I don’t think you’ll have anything held against you for having a GED. My best friend took the High School Proficiency Exam and passed and obtained her High School Proficiency Diploma. She obtained her Bachelors then she went on to study medicine at one of the top medical schools in the country. Good Luck in your educational endeavors!
